The
Jackson County Cardiovascular Health Project
implements a number of programs in
Jackson County. The goal of this project is to prevent
premature death from cardiovascular disease; Jackson
is the number one county in Ohio with deaths due to
this dreaded disease.
Programs sponsored by this project
typically focus on increased exercise or physical
activity such as walking challenges and improved diets,
to include recommended amounts of fruits and vegetables.
The project coordinator works closely with area schools,
student health councils, local organizations, the
Ohio Department of Health and various coalitions.
