Emergency Preparedness
and Response
The Emergency Preparedness and Response Division
was created to enable the Jackson County Health
Department to become better prepared in the event
of a bio-terrorist attack or any other major disaster
or public health emergency. The division is funded
by the Ohio Department of Health through Homeland
Security Grant funds. It is responsible for the
development of emergency response plans for the
Jackson County Health Department which includes
plans for response to biological, chemical or
nuclear incidents. The Emergency Preparedness
and Response Division also works in conjunction
with other Jackson County agencies such as the
Emergency Management Agency, the Local Emergency
Planning Committee, fire departments and Emergency
Medical Services to help protect the health of
the citizens of Jackson County during a public
health emergency, disaster or bio-terrorist event.
