Scoliosis Screening – Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine that develops in early adolescence and can progress to a severe crippling condition if not found and treated. The nurses of the JCHD, in conjunction with the district school nurses, annually screen children in grades 6, 7, and 8. Referrals are made to appropriate physicians for follow-up and attempts to secure examination and treatment for uninsured children are of highest priority.
